Indiana Chapter of Palatines to America
State of Indiana

Mission / Purpose

The Indiana Chapter  was the second state chapter of Palatines to America to be formed. The first organizational meeting was held at a private home in 1976. The first formal meeting of the chapter was held April 16, 1977.

Our goals are to promote interest and study of the emigration of the "Palatines" and other German-speaking people to North America and to exchange information relating to the life, times and society of German-speaking peoples and their descendants.

Meetings

The Indiana Chapter holds a spring meeting and a fall meeting, with a wide variety of speakers and topics relating to Germany genealogy and history.

We also try and schedule a CLS--Collaborative Learning Series--meeting sometime between our spring and fall meetings. These programs have a specific topic and are generally scheduled at one of the Indianapolis Public Library branch locations. If held as a hybrid event, virtual attendance is restricted to PalAm members of any state chapter. The CLS events are free of charge.
